I N I T I A T I V E S

FWD> an interactive education program for students in secondary professional education, created to help them develop a personal vision on their future.

Using reality films, games and assignments they are challenged to find their own drivers and potential.

Consisting of four blocks that combine theory and practice. In each block, the students are shown various movies about 10 individuals, who talk about their lifes, experiencies, profession, dreams, deceptions and success. The aim is to make the students familiair with the topics, food for thought, make them recognise and conscience of their own abilities, while they reflect on those of others. Each lesson is followed by an assignment.

 

 

1. Identity

 

Looking back, about the challenges the students have overcome and where they are now.

Working with assignments, movies and management training games, the goal is to help them picture out who they are, help them become aware of their own qualities.

 

 

2. Motivation and Choice

 

Helping students build trust and understanding, enabling them to examine their own incentives.

 

Facilitating them to recognise and see different perspective while they become aware of their own personal opportunities and options.

 

3. Targets and Entrepreneurship

 

Learning about formulating goals and the various achievement methods.

 

Allowing students to describe and exercise smart objectives. Taking their first steps towards their own personal objective.

 

 

 

4. Future

 

Bringing theory into practice, students learn to present their dreams and ambitions.

 

Working with creative forms they practice to use & capture their new gained insights in a presentation.

SUMMER CAMP first pilot edition took place in July 2011, thanks to the results it has been incorporated in the regular summer program of the institute and is repeated yearly.

Developed to offer a distinctive program that helps troubled youngsters gain valuable knowledge and experience through a variety of activities all focused on personal development and future opportunities.

In an intensive 10-day programme the youngsters (age between 12 and 18) living in the closed youth institution received an unique opportunity to meet and work with a variety of people all working in different fields. These youngsters are in a stage of their life in which they need to make choices, choices that will affect their future...

 

Being able to explore and learn about what’s out there and available, discovering (new) perspective is essential for them to be able to understand and make a conscious choice. Summer Camp aims to increase their range of options by teaming up with private- and public companies, government and institutions, facilitating a wide area of workshops, categorized in four themes:

SUMMER13 a varied program full of educational, practical and fun workshops, developed to inspire 98 youngsters living in a closed youth institution.

A public - private production, inviting professionals from various disciplines to join and spend a meaningful day.

In four weeks time the youngsters (age between 12 and 18) living in the closed youth institution received an exclusive opportunity to explore unfamiliar territories, meeting professionals from various disciplines while gaining new and exciting experiences.

With various sport and fitness activities, the first week is used to get familiar with the participants, getting in touch while informing them about the concept and purpose of the program. From the second week on various guest speakers from businesses, government and institutions facilitate a broad range of workshops and activities. With a few exceptions of external trips most workshops are hosted within the premisses of the institution.
